hi,
Please provide info about the storage controller. Is it the onboard one or you have an add. PCI card?
regards,

Re: How can rebuild RAID1 after one of the disks is damaged in a HP Proliant DL320 G5?
Serial ATA hot-plug capability and drive LEDs are not supported by the DL320 G5 embedded SATA storage controller. Hence, to rebuild the RAID array, power down the server, replace the defective hard drive, and then power it on to start the RAID re-build.
