I've installed Smart Array Controller Utilities and can see the hardware but it looks like my only option is to "delete the logical drive" and start over.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance, Mark.

Solution
if you have hotplug-harddrives, just pull out one of your harddrives.
OK, this will not really answer your question, but do not really understand your question, please send more details. Normally you do not need to "break a mirror".
Is one of your HDs defective? If yes , just replace it. If it is a hotpluggable drive, do not cycle power, just pull out the drive whilw the system is running and replace it. The controller will do the rest.

Re: How do I break RAID-1 mirror on ML350 with 431 Array Controller
Thanks, that does address the first part of my goal. The goal is weird in that this is a very low budget server and I want to break the mirror so that I can use both drives for storage.
I'm thinking I can just yank one drive. Change the address of it and insert it in a different slot to be safe.
Hopefully I can then let the system run off the one drive and claim the other for data storage.
If I need to supply more details, please let me know. Thanks, Mark.
