How do I install Server 2003 R2 on my proliant 5500

Ive upgraded the firmware to 11/8/2000 and the system config to 2.48A. Under O/S installation, it does not show Windows 2000 server, only Windows NT. I want to Install Windows 2003 or at least Windows 2000 and use all four processors.

The Proliant servers of that generation need SmartStart 5.5. Windows 2003 did not exist by then, but you can boot with Windows 2003 CD and provide controller drivers in a diskette.
Drivers for this server and Windows 2003 are available here:

Re: How do I install Server 2003 R2 on my proliant 5500

Thank you for the advice, but will windows 2003 be able to utilize the four processors, and if not right off the bat, which HAL do i select to get them to work, and which BIOS setting to I adjust to enable them, such as, which operating system do i select (Windows NT, or OTHER) Windows 2000 is not an option for some reason on my firmware. Ive read something about ACPI config by hitting some hotkey when I get into the BIOS which I have yet to try.
