How do I know if one of my hard drives crashed

Hi. My client has 2 servers. One is a ML 370 G3 and one is a ML 330 G3. Both these servers use raid over 3 disks (striped). I am not onsite at this client, but can remote desktop into both servers. How will I know if one of my harddrives crashed in any of the servers. Will I see it in a log somewhere? And, when I am at the client, where can I see it. I know on the ML 370 the drives are at the front, so I can see on the lights on the drives, but what about the ML 330? Where can I check it, or can I believe the log, and don't have to double check it at some stage on the machine?
Thank you

Array Diagnostic Utility

run report

IML (Integrated Management Log Viewer) - Start -> Programs -> COMPAq or HP System Tools

ACU (Array Configuration Utility): Start -> Programs -> COMPAQ or HP System Tools Find Physical View, also from logical View you can see degrated Status

Re: How do I know if one of my hard drives crashed

Will it be sufficient for me just to check the IML log?

Re: How do I know if one of my hard drives crashed

If you want to be notified immediately when a drive fails, then you can use and configure the event notifier.

You can also view the drives through the System Management Homepage.

Both of these items require the agents be installed though.
The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..

Hi Terry. How do I install the client services to notify me when a drive has failed?

If you have the agents installed, then you should be able to go to start, programs, HP management agents, then select Event Notifier Config. Once you do this it will prompt you to walk through the wizard to configure it.

And if I don't have the agents installed? Where can I find them?

Re: How do I know if one of my hard drives crashed

It is part of the support pack

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/22274.html

If the servers have a public IP, you can get the information by logging into the system management home page....also a part of the support pack
There’s your problem!!! This thing is set to EVIL!
