How do I set initial fan speed to low on a DL360 G3?

We got a few DL360 G3 that runs the OS from a CD-ROM. It is thus impossible to install any health drivers etc. Is it possible to set the fans to low speed as default? The fans running at full-speed are just too loud.

Hi,

Open the following link and slect you os then install ProLiant Essentials Performance Management Pack. That will help you resolve your problem. but at intial stage of booting the fan speed will be more.

I am assuming that you have windows 2000 with you so you can directly install from below link.

Better option is to install proliant support from hp web site. follow the first link anf select os/ server model to install same on server.

Well, the case is that the OS is a custom made *BSD thing (I think) that boots and runs of the CD-ROM (it's the OS for nfr ids sensor).

is this software installed on a "hidden" partition or onto the system partition(s)?

What about Smart Start CD-ROM? Is it any use (I've got v7.10)?

Which kind of BSD it is I don't know (Free/Net/Open). But I guess that is not that important.. I've already more or less realized that this can't be fixed with software/drivers (except bios firmware), and the solution should (if possible) be fixed with some sort of DipSwitch settings??

Re: How do I set initial fan speed to low on a DL360 G3?

hi

As suggested by vijay cane be a option
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=PSD_EL031120_CW01

But there is not DIPSWITCH to fix the same problem. Yes firmware can but there has not been any updates on such issues in case of latest firmware.
