How do I update firmware to disks on SmartArray 6i
Hello,
I have DL360G4 with 2 disks of 72GB that I moved from another system. When the system boot up I got a message indicating that the disks firmware need to be updated and link to: www.hp.com/support/proliantstorage.
I managed to find the latest firmware of the disks (a .scexe file) but I cound not find the update utility to download the firmware to the disks.
I will appreciate assistant on that issue.
Regards,
Yossef

Re: How do I update firmware to disks on SmartArray 6i
Hi,
you need the ProLiant Firmware Maintenance CD. You can download the ISO image for free here:
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/subscription/PSM_subscription.html
Copy the .scexe file to a floppy. Boot the server from the Firmware CD. Then run the ROM Update Utility, and use the "Supplemental Disk" feature. It will then ask you for the floppy disk. Then you can update the disk firmware.
Regards,
Stephen

Re: How do I update firmware to disks on SmartArray 6i
Hi,
You could also use the USB Drive Key Utility to update firmware. This creates a bootable USB "Pen Drive" onto which you copy the .scexe file.
Cheers,
Rob
