How do you remove right side of Proliant 3000 Case?

I'm working on a Proliant 3000 server. I had to remove the Hard Drive Cage to get access to the tape drive. I'm having problems connecting the SCSI cables back to the hard drive cage. It's a very small space to reach in. I have the left side panel off (the one that gives you access to the CPU, memory, PCI/ISA slots), I also have the top panel off. I can't find anything on the right side that would allow me to remove that panel. If I could remove that, I would be able to reach the cables MUCH easier. Anyone know how to do this? Thanks!

Hi,

If u want to access the rear side of Hard drive cage, the proper way is to pull out the drive cage and make some space to connect cables etc..

pls refer following document;

Removal and Replacement Procedures (Maintenance and Service Guide) of PL3000 server;

ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/supportinformation/techpubs/maintenance_guides/327158-001_ch2.pdf

In page 19 it shows , how to remove the drive cage;
First unscrew two thumb screws in two sides of the cage, then remove fans by opening the top cover, next pull out a live which locks the cage into the frame...and then u can pull the cage out as u like...

Think this will help u ...
