How does PC2700 affect an 800 FSB in the DL360?

Will the PC2700 SDRAM affect the 800MHZ FSB in the DL360 Xeon 3.4GHz?

Elle:
You must use PC2700 DDR 333 Registered SDRAM in the DL360G4 server.

You can install up to 8GB of RAM in the server.

Thank you for taking the time to reply John. What I was really curious about is why the pc3200 is not listed in the HP Bulletin and does the pc2700 slow down the FSB?

Ah! Well... Knowing HP engineering they would test to find the most stable of components to include in the server. And I say "server", because unlike a desktop which may get re-booted every day or more a server is expected to run for months on end without any interference. I am sure the bus would benefit from faster RAM, but I would guess they found the lesser ram a more stable component to deploy on.
This is just a guess, but as I have spoken face to face with a few of the designers and engineers at HP and previously with Compaq on the ProLiant line, I know they choose the conservative path and stability over the long run that to rush out with the latest and greatest bleeding edge and find that the systems are not a stable as they need them to be.
We end users are an ornery bunch and we can complain at the drop of a hat when our expectations are not met with a product.

There are few whitepaper and other technology papers you can read on ProLiant momory, here:
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/options/memory-description.html
Documentation at the bottom of the page...

also:
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/options/memory.html

Some light reading may shed some light on why they coose the slower ram for the DL360 and faster for the other servers...
Enjoy!
