How to Microsoft Hyper-V 2012 R2 Cluster with 4 nodes (four HPE ProLiant DL300er and one LUN / SAS)
My Boss got 4 HPE ProLiant DL300er Series (Generation 8) and one HPE Storage Enclosure 3000er Serie yet. Is it possible to connect all 4 Servers with additional HPE SmartArray 421 (or better HPE SmartArray 431) to this HPE 3700er to build a cluster with 4 nodes (all four ProLiants), or do we need to build it with the two HPE ProLiant 380p only and use the HPE ProLiant DL360e and HPE ProLiant 360p for something else (for the Active Directory for example)? I yet recommeded him to buy two SmartArray 421 (cheaper) for the both HPE ProLiant DL380p to use / to connect the HPE 3700 Enclosure for the needed LUN for the Microsoft Server 2012 R2 Datacenter Edition for building a Failover-Cluster for Microsoft Hyper-V where further (virtual) Servers can run on and use the two other HPE ProLiant DL360p and 360e with Windows 2012 R2 Essentials for a PDC and BDC. for a Active Directory Domain,
Are there other recommondations, examples, best practices examples or official HPE advisory how to build the 4 node cluster my boss is preffering (instead this) ?!?
I am wondering if some HPE geeks oder HPE experts can reply because all the hardware has run out of official HPE support contract.
With best regards,
Dirk

Re: How to Microsoft Hyper-V 2012 R2 Cluster with 4 nodes (four HPE ProLiant DL300er and one LUN / S
I was wondering if some HPE geek or HPE expert externaly would verify if this 4 node cluster with one storage (and the mentioned HPE componentens) might be able (compatible) with this: https://www.atto.com/products/bridges/fibre-channel/8gb-fibre-channel-to-6gb-sas/FCBR-6500-DPS or if such a product exists from HPE for combinating this with the above mentioned HPE ProLiants and to buy extra Fibre-Channel-Adapters for the HPE ProLiants to connect the HPE 3700 with 4 HPE ProLiants (one DL360p, one DL360e and two HPE 380p). Going also to look at HPE quicksspecs regarding this issue.
