RAID configuration information is stored in a non-accessible area of your hard drives. If you replace the card, it will just work.

You don't need to backup your controller. I do not believe any method is available for you to do so.

Hi Joshua Small,
I have 5 72GB SAS HDDs ,i configure 2 HDD in RAID 0+1, and another 3 HDDs i configure RAID 5 ,and i want to backup the configuration of the RAID controller, if the RAID controller dead, i can change with another one and restore the configuration so the operating system can work again .
Thanks for your answer Joshua !!!

Hi Hoang,

You will need to read my post again. You do not backup your RAID controller.

There is no need. If it dies, just replace it.

hi

as Joshua Small says RAID configuration can not be backup just like that

what you can do is backup your DATA so if the server crashes and after all troubleshooting server is dead so you recreate your RAID and restore DATA you had in a storage device ... or any other

Didn't your momma teach you to say thanks!
