How to disable alerts for HBAs that are installed but not connected?

Hi,

I have a BL20p G3 server that has fibre HBAs installed, however they are not connected. We want to keep them installed for now as we may connect the servers in the near future.

Alarms are periodically being sent saying that the status has changed and the adapters appear orange on the HP Management Homepage. Is there a way to tell the agents to ignore the adapter status so that alerts are not sent out?

Thanks.

Is there any option from HP Management Agents Under Control Panel?

HI,

You could disable it from the BIOS or OS level.
What OS is being run? If Windows then under Control Panel-> Administrative Tools-> Computer Management -> Devices you should see your HBA. You could disable the one not in use from there.

Thanks Albert, disabling the devices in Windows Device Manager resolved the issue ;)
