How to enable SATA suport on ML110
I found sata connectors on my system (339042-421)
BUt some how when I plugin a SATA disk & go to the BIOS, I cannot select to enable SATA.
Any idea ?
Also I want to update the BIOS , but I am on VISTA X64 , so there is no ROM available , any help would be appreciated

Re: How to enable SATA suport on ML110
hi
339042-421 - is that number for a ml110 g1?
I mean which generation
usually you go to advance options - chipset control and you will find SATA options

Re: How to enable SATA suport on ML110
yes I guess it's a G1 , it's an older one
Well if I go into bios you see the option SATA , but it is grey .. so it can not be used

Re: How to enable SATA suport on ML110
hi
I just realized this
SATA option is disable by design in those SCSI and ATA models
there are 3 ml110 g1 models
HP Single Channel Ultra320 SCSI Adapter (SCSI Models)
Integrated Dual Channel Ultra ATA-133 IDE (ATA Models)
4 port SATA RAID controller (SATA Model)
in your case you have a ATA model (339042-421)
so if you want SATA in your server you need either get a SATA model or get this option SATA PCI Controller Card: 367877-001 (4 port SATA controller)
regards
