How to install Insight Management Agents on VM

When trying to run the installer (HPE Insight Management Agents for Windows Server x64 Editions) on a DL380p G8, I get the following message: "Server component execution not supported at this time in Server Virutalized Guest operating systems."

A chat session with an HP support rep (when the box was still under warranty) left me under the impression it could be installed on a guest OS. Am I wrong about that?  Hoping I'm just missing something.
