How to make JBOD volumes on e200i

Hello,

on DL360 G5 we have E200i controller but don't want to use RAID at the moment. Is there any way to turn it off to see raw drives?

If not, could you suggest what hardware we need to replace to make OS see drives?

At the moment, we create separate logcal drive with RAID0 on each physical drive, but this don't allow using SMART monitoring of drives.

Thanks in advance,

Re: How to make JBOD volumes on e200i

Sorry Max,
checked the specification of the server
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12476_div/12476_div.html

Found this server supports only following controllers :
Smart Array E200i Controller
Smart Array P400i Controller
Smart Array P600 Controller
Smart Array P800 Controller
-All the above controllers are Smart Array Controllers (SUPPORTS ONLY RAID)

HP 8 Internal Port SAS HBA with RAID
-At first sight this was looking like the solution, but after checking its user guide didn't found any option to disable the RAID in SAS BIOS.

Others are the SCSI controllers :
SCSI Controllers for External Drive/Storage Support :
Smart Array 6402/128 Controller
Smart Array 6404/256 Controller
Smart Array 642 Controller
SCSI HBA :HP SC11Xe Host Bus Adapter

Please check your above statement :
>>At the moment, we create separate logcal drive with RAID0 on each physical drive, but this don't allow using SMART monitoring of drives.
Are you not getting any option to monitor the drive ?
The Array Diagnostics Utility & hp online Insight Diagnostics should provide you this functionality. They both use SMART monitoring.
