How to setup the ILO port on my DL360 G6 server for openstack

Hi Experts,

I have a DL360 G6 server (as labelled on the front). This is the first time I am working on this server.

I have Ybuntu 14.x installed on this server

My goal was to have this server setup as an Openstack node. While I was able to get PXE boot to work with manual intervention. I am unable to figure ut what the "POwer Type setting should be for this server when setting up the Maas configuration parameter.

So after failing a couple of things I realized I think I should get the ILO2 port (on the back of this server connected and configured. Please suggest how to make this port work and configured so that I may be able to remotely control this server.

Hi,

You can iLo setup, the first time SmartStart CD booting.

1. Boot your HP Server using HP SmartStart CD.
2. Once SmartStart CD is loaded, click on Maintenance button (check screenshot).

Power on the server.

During POST you see the ILO line, press F8 to go into the config tool.

Set IP address and credentials, then you can point your browser to ILO.

G6 servers have ILO2.
