Re: How to use a single ip number for server with multiple network port?

you need to install HP network configuration utility (if not already installed, it comes with PSP).

once installed, double-click the small icon with a NIC and the HP logo in the system icons area.

First assure all NICs are NOT assigned an IP address (DHCP)

select the NIC cards seen in the HP NCU window and then click "team".

It takes a while and it creates a NEW NIC with Hardware "HP Network team" (or stuff like that :D )

Let it finish correctly and then assign the IP addresses you want in the properties of the new network connection.

DO NOT re-enable TCP/IP or other protocols on the net connections assigned to physical NICs. It's been disabled (regularly) by the HP NCU utility and SHOULD be let so configured.

NIC teaming is an amazing feature of HP servers that lets you have Load Balancing and FAILOVER with 2 or more NICs.

Note that for REAL load balancing you need to configure the switches for "switch assisted load balancing".

HTH. Bye!

If you team the connections, check your switch to make sure you can trunk the connections on the switch.
