Hp DL180 G5 server issue

My DL 180 G5 server hard drive 146 GB front led is off, they start at power on and then goes to off mode with no activity, i cant detremine if i have any failure on them, please advise????????

Boot from the Smart Start CD and run the array mangler and see whats up.

Whats in the logs? Any notice of a previous failure?

smart start is not working with this series, there is no raid controller installed the raid is bulit-in.

As you said is correct smart start is not supported i suggest you to go for 100 HP Insight Diagnostics Offline Edition given in the below link

my quastion is the Hard Drive led should be lighted or it is normal to be truned off????????????????????????
and if not how can i light it????

Dear jihad,
I am having the same Issue:
DL 180 G5, the HHDs leds come up at power up for a short second, then nothing... the system is working fine, and the hard drives are confired as RAID 1, but not LED activity at all...

get disk model number go to hp .com get latest firmware for disks,
should sort it
