Hp ProLiant ML350 G5 doesnt recognize 2nd Hard Drive

I have 2 harddrives for this server and it doesnt recognize the 2nd one. The primary is plugged into slot 1 on the front and the slave is plugged into slot 2. It shows power on the power light (blinks green) but doesnt show it on My Computer and you cant access it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok after playing with it I found that it is now recognizing the drive but as a backup drive. I want it to be a slave and not a backup primary... Is there a way to change this setting. This isnt your basic harddrive. It is a slot loaded 1 and has no jumpers built on it and no instructions could be found.

Hello Sean,

try running the Array Configuartion Utility. There you can create an array with this single disk and add a logical volume to that array.

Now you can do a rescan in the disk management of windows and initialize and the new disk. Create a partition and format it, assign a drive letter, finished. :)
