Hp server ML 350 G5 replace by ML 350 G6?
Hello to all I just want to ask and need some advise regarding my situation, we are using ML 350 G5 server on our database SQL 2005 server, Windows 2003 R2 Server. We want to have a back up server in case our Ml 350 G5 failed to operate. We knew we can not purchase anymore the ML 350 G5 now we are planning to have Ml 350 G6 as our back up server due to some complicated software and interface thru serial port connection we are thinking that if we can purchase the ML 350 G6 and get the raid 1 hardisk to Ml 350 G5 and install to ML 350 G6 may be we can solve our issue on installing all programs and interface to the ML 350 g6. so now it is possible to do that way by removing the HD of ML 350 G5 going to ML 350 G6?
Please advise us.
Thanks,
mides

Re: Hp server ML 350 G5 replace by ML 350 G6?
ML350 G5 goes integrated with E200i controller on the system board
ML350 g6 goes integrated with p410i controller on the system board
So it is not possible to swap the hard drives from g5 to g6 as it has different controllers.
