I have two HP DL380 G7 with internal controller dying, I would like to replace with PCIE
Hello,
I ask again a question about controller replacement.
I need to replace controller of two hp DL380 G7.
I can put inside another p410i (refurbished) but I would like to know if I can put a newer controller inside that:
- let me keep existing arrays
- can be connected to existing drive cables
- is compatible (I know if you put not compatible cards fans go crazy)
Thanks again for any hint!
Mario

Re: I have two HP DL380 G7 with internal controller dying, I would like to replace with PCIE
Actually I would like to use a newer and more powerful controller like P440.
I agree with you that replacing a P410i with P410 is not useful.
Anyway I now think I am running to fast: in my server if I do a stress test running a disk benchmark for several hours I lose disks (they go out and I must manually rescan controller to have them in again). I supposed that it is a controller problem but I forgot that it can also be a backplane problem.
