IDE Hard drive on a Proliant 400

Hello,

We still have some older Proliant 400 PIII servers running in our testlabs. I have one with a SMART array controller, which is the primary boot for this system. When i try to add in a IDE Harddrive, the systems refuses to boot from the smart array. But always tries to boot from the IDE disk...

We would like to use the ide for backup purposes, so it would be handy if we could manage this. I already doublechecked bios settings and the primary boot controller is on array controller... :(

Please help me out.

Thank you in advance.

Re: IDE Hard drive on a Proliant 400

Hi, i have a similar problem, i have Proliant server 400 with 1 SCSI drive and W2000 server instaled, so a instaled a new IDE drive with w2000 server too, but i cant´t boot with the IDE drive, then i connect this IDE drive in other pc and boot, then i try in this server doesn´t boot, so i disconect this scsi drive and doesn´t boot.
How can i put this IDE drive as master and the SCSI drive like a slave, thanks.
