IDE controller card

I have a Prosignia 500 with one embedded Scsi controller. I am trying to add disk space by adding a PCI IDE controller card. The makers of the card (SIIG) have instruction but they do not work. When the blue NT loading screen appears it graphics go wierd and the computer locks. I want to know if this a problem with NT or with the computer's bios. Is there anything i can do? Has anyone ever managed to put an IDE controller card in a prosignia 500?

Re: IDE controller card

The Prosignia 500 model is designed for SCSI hard drives only. You can not install an IDE controller in the system and make it the boot device. There is no place in the system BIOS to set the IDE controller so that it is the boot device.

Re: IDE controller card

Try ide-add on-board card ( isa-soundcard ) I used it with HDD.seagate 20 G. that's O.K (cable select config for HDD.)but don't try to boot
