IDE hard drive on Proliant ML350 G2

I had to remove the scsi drives from a computer pending a court case, I wanted to reinstall windows 2000 onto a spare IDE drive I have, I removed the raid controller and disabled it in the bios and made it boot off IDE primary... it boots off the CD Rom fine and installs windows fine, but when it reboots to finish installation, it appearantly doesnt see the hard drive.

From past experiance I think that it is impossible to boot off a IDE drive in a server that has a SCSI interface.

Hi

I would igree with Stephen, you coul dtry to disable to SCSI controller and can try to boot with the IDE drive (not sure if this will work).

Already tried that.

You will need to install a secondary IDE controller. The one onboard will not support the drive fully (by design)
