IDE in SCSI Proliant ML350

I understand that an IDE HDD will not work with the onboard IDE ports of an SCSI ML350. Would adding an IDE card allow the use of an IDE HDD? If so, will just a standard PCI IDE card work?

Thanks.

Re: IDE in SCSI Proliant ML350

Hello Nathan,
I have seen some folks making use of PCI IDE controllers by Promise. You might wanna give it a try.

Thanks.

I have indeed gotten a PCI IDE Controller card to work. Bought a $40 promise card (labeled as Maxtor) from Staples. Worked right out of the box. Recognized the IDE drive, put it as D while the SCSI array stayed as the boot drive on C.
