Re: ILO Firmware for HP ProLiant DL 380 G5
I think you asked this before ...
Depending on your OS there is probably an online update tool available.
What is your OS?
Otherwise you can get the windows online tool, extract it and use the *.bin file directly with the web frontend of ILO:
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: ILO Firmware for HP ProLiant DL 380 G5
For the firmware to be effective, server has to be restarted!
> Their are two ways to update firmware, online and offline , Offline will be Via the Firmware DVD , Fw dvd can be placed on a Usb key
Link to download the USB key utility
If you want to download individual firmwares go here
Also HP has release SPP ( service Pack for Proliant ) - Drivers+firmwares in a single package

Okay to be effective but is it possible to make the FW-Update without shutdown the server during the Updateintervall. It will be much better to make the Shutdown at Night or early in the morning
best regards

Re: ILO Firmware for HP ProLiant DL 380 G5
Yes it is possible, Download the ILO firmware and extract it and you will find a *.bin file , login to ILO and browse to Administration tab and browse to .bin file and update it ( you can do this irrespective of operating system )
Much simpler way- if windows system , just download the ilo firmware file , double click to install and update
*** You can restart the server whenever you have the downtime, just click on " No to restart " when prompted .
