ILO Remote configuration
Hello,
Here is my problem:
We have like 300 servers, all with ILO configured. Recently, we changed our WINS server and now, we have to change the ILO wins. I Don't want to do it server per server. Is ther a way to configure the WINS settings at once for all servers ??
Also, is ther a way to checl for firmware differences ??
Thanks in advance.
Olivier

Re: ILO Remote configuration
Olivier,
You can use HP Lights-Out Configuration Utility (CPQLOCFG)
http://h18013.www1.hp.com/support/files/lights-out/us/download/23909.html
See HP Lights-Out XML Scripting Sample for Windows as well:
http://h18013.www1.hp.com/support/files/lights-out/us/download/24181.html
For example
Get_FW_Version.xml - Return the version and date/time of the Lights-Out device firmware
Mod_Network_Settings.xml - Change the Lights-Out device Network Settings
You can advertise the CPQLOCFG program as batch process by using you software distribution tool (for example Altiris, Microsoft SMS,....)
Two notes:
1)if you use DHCP for ILO network settings (it is ILO default) -- you can just change DNS/WINS settings in DHCP server.
2) If you use HP Systems insight manager you can check ILO firmware version by using HPSIM reports

Re: ILO Remote configuration
Thanks for you answer.
I just batched CPQLOCFG.exe.
I toke me less than 5 minutes to change the xml file and update 10 servers.
Anyway, thanks a lot.
