ILO Security

Hi, I have a proliant with ILO,

The ILO and the network card are attached two to separate network. ILO to internal LAN, while the server network interface is to the DMZ zone. I have a bit of security concern whether there is a possibility of cross talk from the DMZ LAN to ILO network, people can access the ILO from the internet.

Re: ILO Security

No, there is no a possibility of connecting between this two interfaces. Imagine iLO that "computer in computer" with separate phisical resourses embedded on ASIC.

Note: As I know not late age in Proliant series was announced feature - access iLO with limited functionality via one of the embedded "common" NIC. Unfortunately cannot post link here

Re: ILO Security

The aforesaid answer is seems correct.

Through ILO one can access the server and through the server's nic card to the network it is connected to - but not vice versa.
