ILO, connection refused

I have a DL380 G4 and am connecting to it via ILO (1.82), with the Advanced license installed.
I have mounted Smart Start 7.4,using the virtual media feature, but when I attempt to run the ACU or the Maintain Server-> Insight Diagnostic, it returns a: "connection was refused when attempting to contact 127.0.0.1:2381", message
Firmware Maintenence CD 7.4 was applied.
I am able to install an OS without any problems.
Is this behaviour expected? If not, can someone point out what I am doing wrong.

Re: ILO, connection refused

Frank,
you write you server updated using Firmware maintenence CD 7.40.
But 7.40 Firmware CD contain outdated BIOS for DL 380 G4 - version 4.04 P51-06/02/2005
(see http://www.compaq.com/support/files/server/us/WebDoc/firmware/firmware740content.pdf)

When we see revision history for
"Systems ROMPaq Firmware Upgrade for HP ProLiant DL380 G4 (P51) Servers"
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/revision/8696.html
we see some updates were after 06/02/2005
One of the updates "Resolved issue which could result in intermittent server hangs using iLO virtual media."
Bottom line:
Try to update server BIOS to last level (10/10/2005)

Re: ILO, connection refused

Good suggestion. I neglected to check what the latest Bios update is ( I had the 7.4 Firmwrae update CD on hand and just popped it in). Unfortunately, I will not be able to update the firmware until sometime next week. I will be sure to let you know if the update resolves the issue. thanks

Re: ILO, connection refused

updating BIOS to 10/10/2005 has not resolved the issue. Thanks for the suggestion anyway. Methinks this feature in ILO is broken

Re: ILO, connection refused

Despite installing the latest BIOS update on the server, the ILO feature that I am interested in still does not work.
