ILO console from a Windows 8 Desktop.
Morning,
I just tried to use remote console from ILO use .Net on one of my DL360 G7 servers and get this error: HTTP error:The operation has timed out. Have any one else have any problems with this? The Java console works. I was using IE 10 on ILO 1.28(b)

Re: ILO console from a Windows 8 Desktop.
hi,
So far I know - the supported IE versions are 7,8 and 9. Can You please try with one of these versions.
Thanks

Re: ILO console from a Windows 8 Desktop.
I know it works in those versions. Point is Windows 8 comes with IE10 and I was wondering if my problem was wide spread or just me.

Re: ILO console from a Windows 8 Desktop.
My IE9 has a compatibility mode for IE 7 and 8.
Did you try this mode (press F12)?
The problem cannot be "wide spread", because only a few are using win8 ... and this is a preview version, right?
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: ILO console from a Windows 8 Desktop.
It is not a browser problem. The .NET Remote Console app has problems with the new .NET Framework version 4.5 that comes with Windows 8. We are looking into this issue right now.

Re: ILO console from a Windows 8 Desktop.
My IRC works fine but, I installed .NET 3.5 on my Windows 8 Enterprise Final build.

Re: ILO console from a Windows 8 Desktop.
IтАЩm receiving this same issue when trying to connect to the .Net integrated console of an ILO3 from a 2008 R2 server.
HTTP error:The operation has timed out
The ILO is reporting the following .Net Framwork installed:
Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; MSIE 9.0; Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/5.0; SLCC2; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; .NET4.0C; .NET4.0E)
Is this a known issue? Is there a solution for this?

Re: ILO console from a Windows 8 Desktop.
Have you tried the Java Remote Console to check if it works?
If it doesn't work, I would check firewall settings, security policies and antivirus.
iLO3 and iLO4 Remote Console use the following TCP ports:
TCP port 443 for initial SSL handshake and user credentials.
TCP port 17990 for the video stream.
TCP port 17988 for Virtual Media.

Re: ILO console from a Windows 8 Desktop.
Yes, the Java-based console works. There are no firewalls on this network. When attempting the .Net console it says the following on the bottom of the window:
No video and also Retrieving session settings via SSL
Then after about 10 seconds the "Retrieving session settings via SSL" message disappears. Then about another 15 seconds pass before the "HTTP error:The operation has timed out" message appears.

Re: ILO console from a Windows 8 Desktop.
What iLO3 firmware version are you using?
