We have inherited two HP Proliant DL 380 G4 from different business unit within our company and for some reason somone decided to disable the ILO on these two servers ! Dohh!!
How can you enable these ILO's again ?? Do we need to flick a switch on the systemboard?Could someone please provide more detalis of how to enable the ILO etc ? so, Then I can go into ILO RSBU to configure it....currently on the POST screen we do not even get to see the " F8 " option so, I can not go into ILO RSBU to configure it because it looks like it has been disabled. I am guessing through BIOS and they flicked a switch on the systemboard! any help is appreciated.
Cheers,
Robert

Re: ILO on HP Proliant DL 350 G4 is disabled how do you enable it again ?
yes look for the system maintenance switch (SMW) position 1.
- power off server
- look for SMW - position 1
- put it in ON position
- wait for post and press F8 to enter to ilo and configure it
- power off server
- put position 1 OFF again
regards

Hi Skr,
Where about in BIOS you can disable the ILO ? I checked and I could not find any where you could disable it ??Could you please be more specific, exactly which menu do I need to go to to disable/enable the ILO?
Cheers,
Robert
