ILO2 crashed on a DL360 G5

Is it possible to completely reset ILO 2 from out of Windows as you would do as stated in the manual by removing all power / the powercord from a dl360 g5? It is not possible to get physically to the server and the ilo port seems to have crashed (a restart has no effect, the port can be pinged).

There is a [Reset iLO] button on the System Management Homepage.

Re: ILO2 crashed on a DL360 G5

Thank you David,

I noticed this setting but I was unable to use this option a few days back in system management (it did not reboot ilo after pressing the button, but instead gave an error). After a reboot of the server, which took around 20 minutes (4 minutes = normal) to start up again, in System Management the interface is not recognized as ilo anymore:

? Virtual interface 2

Anyway the server started up and that was a relief.

Any other way to reboot the ilo?

Are you able to access the iLO online configuration utility?
If yes try this "HPONCFG /RESET" without quotes from HPONCFG.
I know that I am intelligent, because I know that I know nothing.

You might update the components of the ProLiant Support Pack since the driver appears not to be functioning. Worst case (and this does not happen often) in your next reboot window, remove all power to the device by power cord.

thanks, a reboot and complete power removal is the only option (as stated in the manual).
