Looking for a version of IP Console Viewer that will install on MS Vista.

Had 3.0 installed on a XP system and upgraded to Vista, and it continued to work.
Attempted to install on a clean Vista system and the install hangs. Unfortunately it installs enough into the registry that it shows in installed programs and when you try uninstall it hangs leaving the program listed in the Add/Remove Program applet. Will have to clean the registry manually to get rid of it. Does HP have a timeframe of when they might release a updated version?

I found a quick fix.

right click on the setup.exe file.

then go to properties.

click on the compatibility tab.

check run this program in compatibility mode for : (select windows 2000)

Then in settings check everything under it.

check run this program as administrator.

click apply then ok...

once you run the setupexe again the screen will zoom to 640 x 480. but don't worry..

once the program is done installing it will only disable the visual effects (vista Basic) while the actuall program is running.

ok after digging a little I found out some more information that you might want to know... this product is not really made by hp. it is made by a company named avocent.. and bingo their software works on vista. I am kinda upset hp has neglected a product as good as this but what u going to, stop working because you can't get their product working.... any how check out avocents web site. their exact model that comes close to this is their 2000r model... soooo download their free software called avworks... export your database from the crappy hp software and then import the database into their software and bingo everything works perfectly. sorry for being so rude but I am tired of sitting on line to get tech support when I have users calling me up for real problems.
