IP Console Viewer connectivity?

Hello all,

We are using the HP IP Console Switches with Virtual Media (2x1x16) and the physical access is perfect, however the IP Console Viewer software cannot connect to these switches over IP. (Even when a client and the switch are in the same network switch) The host can however "ping" the console switch, nothing is being blocked on the network.

Has anyone ever had the same problem? And if so, what is/was the solution?

Best regards,
Coen

Re: IP Console Viewer connectivity?

Sorry for the limited information. We are using the HP IP Console Viewer version 3.0.0.25 on both Windows XP (SP2) and Windows Server 2003.

The JRE version we are using is Version 6, Update 4 (build 1.6.0_04-b12)

Scanning for the IP does not work, we configured the address manually on the console, and we can ping it.

Both the host and the IP Console Switch are on the same physical switch, in the same VLAN. Anyone has a solution to our problem?

Re: IP Console Viewer connectivity?

Hi

We have exactly the same problem now :-(
We have also the 1x1x16 switch since years, but now we have to reboot the switch every week! Physical access works perfect, only over the LAN it's not accessable afte some day.

Any suggestions?
