IRQ availablilty

The F9 setup on this machine seems a bit restricted as far as IRQ availablity is concerned. A requirement for the addition of a PCI 8 port serial board (or any pci board) could not be achieved since IRQs 5,10,11,15 are taken up by the network card,U3 controller,smartarray 431 controller and the Compaq Management board. I would have sacrificed IRQ7 on the parallel port - unfortunately this IRQ is not displayed for selection. I would appreciate any ideas to get around this.
