If page file is reduced from 3 Gb to 2GB ,what may possible outcomes ?

Dear Friends,

We have Compaq proliant 5500 server, using as application server(Winnt 4.0 Server),which is accessing oracle database which is on another machine.
We are facing the problem of Space in D: Drive
Free Sapce 2.5 GB
Page File 3.0GB
C: Drive having 159MB Free out of 2.8GB
Can we reduce page file up to 2Gb to make some around 1GB Free for D: Drive ?
It's feasiable for Winnt 4.0 Server system ?

Waiting for your response....
Regards
Aatish

You can reduce page file, but general rule for NT4 say "recommended page file size must be at least equal to RAM size"
How much RAM you have on Proliant 5500 ?

Anyway, the best option is to add SCSI drives or replace existsing to SCSI drives to larger.

Last incident while installing Service pack 5 on it,It's Dump out, then by replacing cpqnt.sys the machine finally boot. This machine is quite sensitive .Did we try to reduce Page file ?
