Illegal OppCode
Manual build or using RDP ver. 3.83.
Firmware is up to date, ver. 8.60, and BroadCom NIC component is flashed from ver. 2.2.2, 8.60 firmware ver., to 2.2.4
The update fixed a couple of our servers we were having problems with, but we still have a lot that are giving us this error.
From the posts I have seen, it doesn't look like to many people are having this problem.
We just got a large order in and we are 50-50 when it comes to successful.
Is anyone else having this problem?

Re: Illegal OppCode
step worth checking after the above is done
if you get event id 57 in windows or in iml log that is another issue
then refer to this
and here you need ilo firmware , and management controller then reboot

also try
update the BIOS from P62(Jun09) to P62(Oct09)
- update SmartArray p410i FW to 2.50
- change following settings in BIOS:
Reboot the server and press F9 to enter RBSU.
Select "Power Management Options."
Select "Advanced Power Management Options."
Select "Minimum Processor Idle Power State."
Select "C1E" or "No C-States."
change "HP Power Profile" to "Maximum Performance".

Re: Illegal OppCode
I would check if the servers have memory modules installed in correct order. I would also update the firmware of all other entities on the server like SA controllers etc using latest firmware maintenance CD and run offline Insight diagnostics.

Re: Illegal OppCode
Thanks for telling me how to say thanks in the forum. I was always wondering what the Unassigned drop down menu and all those numbers were for.
All firmware is up to date.
p4101 is at 2.72, System board is up to date, BroadCom NIC flash is at ver 2.2.4, Power management options have been set, Virtual Disk has been disabled, we have tried clearing NVRAM, HDD firmware is up to date.
We are working with HP on this no with no luck yet.

Re: Illegal OppCode
Red Screen with Illegal OppCode and addresses.
All memory modules are in the correct slots and we have even tried replacing them.
All that firmware is update with newer versions than on 8.60.
Thanks.

Re: Illegal OppCode

okay now to the issue

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.bios patch just released <<<<<<<<<<<
if issue persists let me know do we have 1 or 2 cpu,s can we swap their slots if we have 2
as this issue generally einates from a cpu call, and the flash patch addresses similar issues
feed back on this would be nice like to know what actually sorts it ....

Re: Illegal OppCode
I see from your previous responses that you whine about points a lot.
