Image of a DL360 G4 to a DL360 G5

Hi,

Someone have experience in imaging (Ghost) a G4 to a G5?
Any tips would help.

The G5 servers have several different technologies than the G4 servers (e.g. SAS) which require much different drivers, so it isn't a straightforward process to drop an image from G4 to G5. Even with tinkering, it ends up being more Plug-and-Pray than Plug-and-Play. HP designed a utility, the Server Migration Pack, Physical-to-ProLiant Edition, that automates the process: http://www.hp.com/servers/manage

Thanx I will try that.

Another question when I try to run the firmware cd on the server and then choose firmeware update I get the message "Unable to start HP SMart Update Manager". I booted with the CD, the HDD's haven't installed anything yet, so they are empty.
