Imaing the drive on a DL380 G3

I'm in the process of trying to image a logical drive on my server. I have (6) 36.4 Gig drives on a Smart Array 642 card. I've configured a 2 Gig drive and installed W2K3 OS on it. (I know it's not the recommended size, but I've done this before and it's only a base image that I will modify and deploy at a 4 gig min)
Anywho, Everytime I reboot to image the drive, the error message I get from my imaging software is

"Failed to Open Volume"

Any suggestions? I've tried disabling the on-board SCSI card also. Same error.

I guess after the reboot the image utility doesn't load the smartarray driver to access the raid disk.

The g3 loads it's drivers from bios so that's not the problem.
ensure the system and controller firmware is up to date on the g3.
I do this regularly with no problem, if your using Ghost you need to use ver7.5
