Impact on long term hardware stability from excessive re-booting

We have a ProLiant 8000 Quad processor system supporting a major application within our business. Due to the design of the supported application we are forced to perform a re-boot of this system on a daily basis. There is consern that this re-booting is placing the hardware in jepordy of failure but no one can provide me conclusive information to support this position. Does anyone know the projected impact to system stability, MTBF or individual components that this type of activity will have. How concerned should I be about the daily re-boot (we do not expect the application issue to be corrected for 3 - 6 months). Any help, information or direction would be great - thanks

Re: Impact on long term hardware stability from excessive re-booting

these servers are designed to stay up and running..continuous reboots COULD but do not necessarily have an affect on the system...its really hard to say..it isnt recommended to reboot continuosuly though
We are here for a good time, not a long time!
