Increasing Hard Disk size on ML350 in RAID

We have an ML350 with hot plug hard disks, 18GB. We have four 18G disks split into two RAID arrays both RAID-1. I am curious, if I break the mirror on one array, and then install a 72GB drive, will the mirror recreate itself? If it does, can I then break the mirror again by removing the other 18G disk and installing a 72G disk bringing that array to 72G of RAID-1? Will Windows 2000 recognize the larger size without any problems?

Thank you very much in advance,
Douglas

Hello Douglas,
I am sure you should be able to do this since some of the folks have done this in the past. Just make sure that you have a full back up of your data. All the firmware i.e System BIOS as well as the Array controller should be uptodate.

Will Windows 2000 recognize the new size of the array? Is there anything in particular I will have to do in the array config utility?

Thank you,
Douglas
