Insight Diagnostic result - hard disk failed

 

Insight Diagnostic result - hard disk failed

Hi,
When i run insight Diagnostic i got an error
Hard disk failed, 4 of 5 hard disk failed. i already replace failed hard disk, replace back plate...but same problem.
Please help...

Ref: OS - windows 2003 standard edition
Server - ML350 G5 Series
Ram - 4gb
Smart Array E200i
Hard disk - 5 x SAS 80gb 10k

Can you save the test report generated by Insight Diagnostics and post it as an attachment ?

First thing I can see is:

you got a very very old HP insight Diagnostics version 7.5 (May 2006)


so my recommendations are:

update Proliant Support Pack which will update controller driver, insight diagnostics tool and Array Diagnostic utility.

and after that run Firmware CD (this is for the controller)

and also update HDDs firmware if it is applicable

Do this run HP insight Diagnostics again also Array Diagnostic Utility and post Both again in case you got the error again

those are 3 steps
PSP (Proliant Support Pack)
Firmware CD
and Firmware for HDDs if applicable(it depends on HDD Model)

something else -> PSP all the time ask for rebooting...

----
ok try this workaround

1. install Insight Management Agents

2. HP Insight Diagnostics Online

3. Driver e200

3. dont reboot even if the applications ask for that

4. and run diagnostics again

ok, i will try this as soon as i downloaded all necessary updates...by the way, is this problem(hard disk failed) can cause the server to run slowly?

that's what I wanted to ask you if you were having issues I mean you see that Insight says several "HDDs failing"

actually i run the insight diagnostic report coz our server is running slowly on the network. i know it has a lot of devices involve(network,viruses etc.) but i just want know if that error message is causes server to run slowly.
