Insight Manager XE installation

I installed NT with the smartstart 4.90, then sp6a, and the required nic driver etc...
Then I followed the install instructions of Insightmanager XE. Because of the small user amount I don't need a full MSSQL, but the MSDE and the installation of MSDE was successfully. When I enter the pass of the SA user the installshield connect to database and installs the ODBC driver. this works fine, but the screen after (when trying to copy the tables, with logsize etc) fails, with the following message.
Unexplained error connection to the database, check pathname ...
but everything seems to be ok.
