Insight Manager - "Acquire Vulnerability and Patch Updates" problem

Hi Everyone,

When I try to Acquire Vulnerability and Patch Updates (by going through SIM, Options, Vulnerability and Patch Management), I'm getting a "Failed" status and the following message:

"EXCEPTION CLASS: com.hp.mx.exceptions.MxFailedAuthenticationException
EXCEPTION: Authentication failed."

and I'm not able to download any patch updates.

Any idea what my problem might be? I checked my Global Protocol Settings \ WBEM user accounts/passwords and they seem ok.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

If you search the ITRC forums for the string "EXCEPTION CLASS: com.hp.mx.exceptions.MxFailedAuthenticationException" you will get 50 hits on previous postings for this error.

Hopefully you can find the solution from a previous posting. Also there is a forum specific for SIM:

MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE & SYSTEM TOOLS - HP Systems Insight Manager
The SIM (or IM) forum would be better for specific questions or issues with this HP management software.
