Install DLT80 in ProliantML370 Tower

I am trying to install an internal HP DLT80 into a new Prolinat ML370 G3. This requires spacers to be screwed onto the side of the tape unit. However the unit is then too wide to fit into the chassis.

The enclosed DLT leaflet informs that the rack ML370 may need a new faceplate to accomodate the DLT Drive & to contact Compaq to get one. Although I have a tower- the problem is the same.

I have spoken to several people in Compaq & nobody has an idea what I am talking about.

Can anyone help?? Has anyone doen this successfully??
Thanks.

Re: Install DLT80 in ProliantML370 Tower

Hello NC,
Just make sure that the Hot Plug enclosure is out of the removable media Bay before you are able to slide the tape device. Also please let me know P/N of the spacers you are using for the drive.

Thanks for your reply,

The part number of the spacers is: 199724-002, and both bays are empty. Part number for DLT is 154871-003.

RESOLUTION:

It turns out that the spacers (rails) are only used for the ML370G1. (DLT Documentation indicates that they need to be used in all ML370) In the G2 & G3 they are to be screwed in.
