Install of Red Hat AS5 (centos 5 x86) onto dl320 g5p Sata
I'm attempting to install Centos 5.0 onto a dl320 g5p (sata model), and anaconda does not get very far. This machine has a sata dvd and 4 sata drives.
The installer only gets to the initial screen asking where the media is, and if I pick CD-ROM it says that there is no cd rom and asks to load another driver. I picked hard drive as the source for the install media just to see, and it tells me that it cannot find a hard drive at all.
I imagine I need to load a driver for the sata controller but the support page does not show a sata controller- only the cciss driver which is embedded in the centos install already.
I'm lost....

Re: Install of Red Hat AS5 (centos 5 x86) onto dl320 g5p Sata
I figured it out- turns out we have a bad DVD rom drive. Since the controller on board is Sata, not *every* drive will work with it... Fun fun.
