Installation Using SmartStart 5.40

We have 3 ML350 G2 servers where we are trying to install Novell 5.1 using the SmartStart 5.40
When the installation gets to the point where it copies file to the HD the process hangs with a message on the screen of SICK and the only choice of clicking OK. The window shows SMART START except that without the vowels. ( SM RT ST RT). And the only thing you can do is power off the system.
The same CDs installed Novell on a ML370, OK. On the same ML350 G2s we installed the same version of Novell using Smart Start 4.30 with no problem.
Has anyone seen this happen and maybe have a suggestion on what to do?
