Installation issue

Hi,

I try to install Windows Server 2012 R2 on a brand new ML110, i100 Raid, 2 x 1TB, 32GB Ram, but it fails.

Last command is rmdir c:\boot. I checked out c:, but there is no such directory, so he is right, unfortunately.

Whats wrong here?

.iso is directly from Microsoft.

With best regards

Gerhard

Re: Installation issue

Where do you see the " rmdir c:\boot" command ?

Are you in the recovery mode ? Is the server completing POST

Where are you trying to install the OS ? (Local , SAN)

Have configured Hardware RAID ?  if yes, what RAID ?

Re: Installation issue

Hi,

when installation starts, there where a command window open. Here I can see whats going on. Few lines before hang up, I see this message.

Lastly it turns out, that the install.wim file is 4.7 GB and it needs a ISOtoUSB program which can handle this correctly. I have one, but this wasn't ok, no error message (hu) but wrong image. Nice, isn't it.

After two attempts with other programs I found RUFUS, This little tool works fine and installation succseeded.

Raid and everything else was ok, I used the open cammand window to check the content of drive c:, the target drive for this installation, works fine. It was also my first idea, that the raid/drive/controller causes some problems.

With best regards
