Installation

I am unable to install Terminal Server 4.0 on a Prolaint 1600R with a Smart 431 Controller. I downloaded the NT drivers for the 431 and during the install pressed F6 at the Hardware Discovery screen then manually specified the driver. Once it gets to the point of where it will start copying over the NT setup files it tells me no disk drives were found. Any ideas?

Re: Installation

First run "System Erase" via Smart Start -- Configure ARRAY with Smart Start -- Configure System Partition via Smart Start if you choose to have this -- Select Manual Installation Path -- Insert Windows Software CD -- Press"F6" early with Screen still black prior to Automatic Hardware discovery -- Then:

Specify with CP000742.EXE extracted to Diskette -- Compaq Smart Array-2 Controllers Driver for Windows NT 4.0 (431 Controller) at URL: http://www.compaq.com/support/files/server/us/download/10144.html
Also Specify with CP000744.EXE extracted to Diskette -- Compaq 32-Bit SCSI Controller Driver for Windows NT 4.0 (Imbedded SCSI Controller) at URL: http://www.compaq.com/support/files/server/us/download/10070.html
Also Specify CD-ROM IDE attpi Generic Driver from Windows Software CD -- Then complete Manual Installation --After Operating System is up apply Current Compaq Support Paq for Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Version 1.08 A available at URL: http://www.compaq.com/support/files/server/us/download/10254.html

Also if you have a System Partition be sure BOOT.INI points to Partition 2 -- For additional help call (800) OKCOMPAQ OR (800) 652-6672

Hope this helps,
