Installing 20/40 DAT

What is the correct way to install a Compaq 20/40 GB DAT in a ML370. I am using optional 431 array controller for RAID 5. I assume the DAT should be connected to port 1 of the Integrated Dual Channel Wide Ultra2 SCSI Adapter, but are there any considerations in the setup for using both SCSI adapters?

Re: Installing 20/40 DAT

First Question, is this a internal or external?

Compaq sells hotplug tape drives that you can put in your drive cage. They sell a DDS4 and an AIT (50/100 I think) that will plug in just like a hot plug hard drive.

Now if it's external, I have gotten them to work on the array controller only when fiddling around, but I have NO production or customer machines like this.

The recommended way to go would be to use the embedded scsi on the motherboard. If you have an internal drive, the cable is siting right in the expansion bay, just plug it it. If it's external, the drive comes with cable to use the external scsi port.

I hope this helps you!
