Installing Extra NIC in ML350 Tower
Hello,
I am trying to add an additional NIC to my server. It is the 3COM 3C996B-T card. I have gone over the specs of it and it is compatible with the PCI-X of the server. However when I install it, the system Halts with an "UNSUPPORTED PCI CARD" message.
I have tried disabling the second Ultra SCSI channel and the Hyper Threading but to no avail.
BIOS on this system is D17 (12/2/2004)
Any ideas?
Peter

Re: Installing Extra NIC in ML350 Tower
In which slot has you installed the card? Try in slot 5! Do you have any error numbers? When halts the system? What is the last information?

Re: Installing Extra NIC in ML350 Tower
I tried in ALL slots. Same error. However, i found on 3COM's site that this card is NOT supported in any Prolian servers.
Doesn't say why, but I guess they have their reasons. Wish I knew that before purchasing this card....
